Since I lived in Alicante, Spain, June is my favourite month of the year. Loooove the smell of gunpowder, looooove the noise from the “fiesta”, loooooooove the temperature of Alicante in June!!

As I mentioned in my previous post https://monica-etcheverry.uk/i-smell-gun-powder-are-you-ready-for-fiesta/ June is a special month because of the celebrations in the city. One of these is the International Parade which takes place in the centre of the city. Its name is telling you what to expect!

The International Folklore Parade is the showstopper of the Hogueras festival, drawing crowds like bees to honey! People from all over the world strut their stuff in dazzling traditional outfits and shake it to the rhythm of their homeland dances. Around 100 performers from places like Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and Russia bring the heat with their vibrant costumes and lively energy. Plus, with over 10,000 chairs lined up along the parade route, you can kick back and enjoy the fabulous spectacle in style!

You can see traditional dances from different Spanish regions as well as from other countries, you can feel part of a story from a film or just dance at the uncontrollable rhythm of Brazilian samba. Feel yourself in the middle of a battle between Moors and Christians!

Alicante’s International Parade Will Blow Your Mind!

We’re all different people living on the same Planet, with different cultures, different languages, from different climates, with different talents. We all love to celebrate, any celebration is great. My favourite celebration is at the start of each day, when the sun rises. That has a great meaning to me: it’s a new day, I’ve survived one day more, it’s a new day full of opportunities but mostly a new beginning.

I read this and want to make it my own: “Today is not just another day. It’s a new opportunity, another chance, a new beginning. Embrace it.”
