Career, family, jail -can they be connected?

Let’s try!

Scenario 1- Due to failure in my career, I lost my family and ended in jail.

Scenario 2- Although almost in jail, I could continue my career with the support of my family.

Scenario 3- My uncle had a beautiful family, during his successful career, he spent most of his time in jail.

Scenario 4- Having a good family relation helped me succeed in my career and additionally by no means visit a jail.

We could have so many more scenarios combining these words! Yes, they can definitely be connected. The best way to do it is focusing on scenario 4.  Regarding the third one, I should comment my uncle’s family was great, he was a Colonel in the army and he was in charge of a prison.

Strong families are essential for society, but mostly for us. They are the ones who help us to grow, teach us how to become a good civilian, how to love and praise God, we learn society rules within the walls of our home. We learn to respect others, to love others, we face difficulties together or between us and learn how to resolve them. We could say family is our personal school. Obviously, there comes a time when all the family members have their own “personal school” and roles change from father and mother to grandparents, from sons and daughters to mom and dad. That’s a never-ending story, long-life instruction. Having a good family relation is crucial, this helps the members feel loved, capable, supported. When this happens, you feel you’re not alone in your battles. There’s nothing comparable with the unity of a family. And other people see this, although no need to mentioning it, anyone can definitely see that strong tie in their faces.

If you are a happy member of a strong family, this will help you succeed not only in life, but also in your career. A balance must be kept; therefore, prioritising is essential. Quantity and quality are both important in family matters. Our career is part of our life, we need to invest in it as well. We need to take all pros and cons into consideration and enjoy what we are doing. If we do this, we won’t feel we’re working but enjoying life. And life is simpler than we imagine it. Mark Twain said: “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.” We must be transparent, honest, loyal. As long as we apply integrity in our career and life itself, we will only see a jail on movies.

Nando Parrado, a survivor from a plane crash in the Andes Mountains shared this thought: “Things make sense. There are rules and realities that will not change to suit our needs. It’s your job to understand those rules. If you do, and if you work hard and smart, you will be all right.”

I totally agree with this.
